CHEMTEX'S Chiller Descaling is a super concentrated multi-functional chemical composition for removing rust, scale, slime and greasy deposits from severely fouled/rusted closed loop systems. It removes sludge and scale deposits and iron oxides very effectively. It is perfectly suitable for removing lime and rust deposits and oily contaminants. The products which we cater under Chiller Descalant are AHU Descalant, Condenser Descalant, Air Cooled Condenser Cleaning, Refrigerant Flush, Copper Tube Scale Remover and Chiller passivation

CHEMTEX'S Chiller Descaling comes at neutral pH which gives it an add on advantage for acceptance with all system metallurgy. It is compatible with all chiller circuit components such as o-rings, rubber hose and plastic material, along with metals such as all types of steel, Copper, Cast Iron, Cu-alloys, zinc and galvanized surface, except aluminum.






AHU Descalant

CHEMTEX'S AHU DESCALANT is a 3-in-1 compound for removal of scale, rust and greasy deposits in water systems. It removes heavy deposits of water scale and iron oxides very effectively. It is perfectly suitable for removing lime and rust deposits and oily contaminants.

CHEMTEX'S AHU DESCALANT comes with an inbuilt rust inhibitor package to protect cleaned surfaces from acidic attack. It can be used on most common metals such as MS, SS, Copper, Cast Iron, Copper alloys such as Cu-Ni except zinc and galvanized surface.

Application and Dosage
CHEMTEX'S AHU DESCALANT is suitable for removal of moderate scale and rust deposits from system at very low concentration.

It can be used in following three methods:-
1. Basic Re-circulation circuit method
2.
Fill and soak method where re-circulation circuit is not possible
3. Immersion method for small metal pieces

Dosage varies from 2-10% w/w solution, depending upon the severity of soil and scale deposits to be removed and nature of metal. After cleaning the system should be passivated for protection against flash rusting due to low pH. This is done by recirculating or soaking the system for 30-60mins in 2% w/w solution of PASSIRINSE for surface passivation and acidity neutralizing.

After passivation rinse the system with normal water and return to normal service.

Note: If a system is to be kept idle for some time, it is recommended to fill it with 1% solution of PASSIRINSE, for system preservation against rusting.

Handling measures and precautions
Proper human safety products such as Splash goggles, lab coat, vapor respirator, gloves and boots should be worn while handling and applying chemicals. Splashes on skin should be washed off with water immediately. In case of splashing into the eyes, flush it with fresh water and obtain medical attention. Should not be injected. Condenser Descalant

CHEMTEX'S Condenser Descalant is a blend of acids with inhibitors. It is designed to remove mineral scales and metal oxide (rust) deposits in water systems that are subject to deposit-accumulation. Typical tasks are descaling of condenser, evaporator, heat exchangers, evaporative condensers, boilers, geysers, solar heaters, blow mouding machines, gear box, steel parts cleaning, vacuum pump decalcifying etc.

CHEMTEX'S Condenser Descalant is inhibited to protect cleaned surfaces from acidic attack. It can be used on most common metals such as MS, SS, Copper, Cast Iron, Copper alloys such as Cu-Ni except zinc and galvanized surface.

Key Features and Benefits
Application and Dosage
CHEMTEX'S Condenser Descalantis used in various applications and at different concentration ratio depending upon the amount and type of deposit and system parameters. Normally for a system with hard scale deposits a 20% v/v solution is recommended. Preferably this solution should be made with pre-heated water at 70-80oC. The total volume of solution should be about 1.2 times of water holding capacity of equipment to be descaled.

Recirculate the solution for about 6 hours using a acid compatible pump. After descaling it is necessary to passivate system with 2% solution of CHEMTEX'S PASSIVATION CHEMICAL into the last rinse and return to normal service.

Important:
1. For extremely rock hard and thick scaling it is recommended to soften the scale prior to descaling by recirculating and soaking 5-10% solution of ALSTASCALE SS22 for 2-3 hours followed with rinsing with plain water before dosing descalant.
2. In case of high silica and iron deposits add 2-3 parts ALSTASCALE SR60 to 10parts of ALSTASCALE PS20
3. After dosing chemical never heat solution by firing burners

Air Cooled Condenser Cleaning

CHEMTEX'S Air Cooled Condenser Cleaning is a non-acid liquid cleaner and brightener for complete removal of dust, dirt, greasy-oily soils, carbon deposits and grime on the aluminum fins and copper coils of AHU, FCU, Air Conditioners (Indoor and Outdoor), Car Condenser and Radiator, Air Cooled Chillers, Air Cooled Condensers, Air Cooler Tube Bundle etc. It rapidly cuts organic deposits and disinfects the system to circulate fresh and healthy air and enhances IAQ (Indoor Air Quality).

CHEMTEX'S Air Cooled Condenser Cleaning has self foaming characteristics which starts immediate foaming when it comes in contact with dirt, enabling excellent penetration of the product into the coils for complete cleaning that instantly shows increase of CFM/Air Velocity.

Application and Dosage
CHEMTEX'S Air Cooled Condenser Cleaning is a concentrated product and should be used as diluted with water in the ratio of 1 part product with 3-5 parts water (depending upon the severity of the soil). It shows excellent cleaning efficacy and foam generation in all methods of application such as: Spraying, Sprinkling, Pouring and Dip method.

The product should ideally be allowed a contact time of 10mins for cleaning by self foaming. No scrubbing or wiping is required. Rinse well with plenty of water till foam is completely removed. For more details refer product label.

Important :
Aluminum is a very soft metal and is highly prone to corrosion. Care must be taken in terms of good and complete rinsing of the foam from the fins.

Note : CHEMTEX'S Air Cooled Condenser Cleaning is fortified with corrosion inhibitor that protects aluminum during cleaning. However, it does not impart any protective layer or coating on aluminum.

Refrigerant Flush

CHEMTEX'S Refrigerant Flush is a superior blend of cleaning chemicals for removing dirt deposits, scale, rust, oil and greasy deposits and contaminants from the engine, radiator and cooling system internals while the system is in operation. The deposits otherwise severely affect the heat transferability of the system and may lead to engine seizure due to overheating.

CHEMTEX'S Refrigerant Flush is an online cleaning chemical is dosed in the following ratio: for every 30ltrs of water/coolant mix 2ltrs of CHEMTEX'S Refrigerant Flush and allowed the engine to run for about 24-72hours and then drained out flushed with fresh water.

Chiller Passivation

CHEMTEX'S Chiller Passivation Chemical is a unique purging and passivating agent for closed loop systems. It plays a vital role in keeping the closed loop system operating efficiently. It effectively removes foulants such as dirt, solder deposits, corrosion products, water derived mineral deposits, grease, oil films or foulants etc. Cleaning of new system with CHEMTEX'S Chiller Passivation is just as important as cleaning old ones, since the metal surface of new systems may be coated with oil or film, which can cause reduce heat transfer efficiency due to low thermal conductivity.

Passivation with CHEMTEX'S Chiller Passivation creates a Passive coating on the system metal that ensure optimum system performance, by reducing the chances of metal oxidation or corrosion(rusting), and retains the heat transfer efficiency close to design. Water or Brine dosed after passivation retain their properties and do not foul early.

Key Features and Benefits
Application and Dosage
CHEMTEX'S Chiller Passivation Chemical is a powder compound and should be dosed directly to the system tank containing water. After dilution the solution should be re-circulated for 6 hours to enable cleaning and forming a passive coating on the metal surface. Once the system is cleaned, the solution can be drained off or stored for future cleaning jobs, if not severely fouled or discolored. For re-using the same solution for more jobs, ensure that the solution pH is above 11.5. If not, then add more CHEMTEX'S Chiller Passivation.

Ideally for cleaning and passivation of new systems a small concentration of CHEMTEX'S Chiller Passivation is required. For old and severely fouled systems, descaling is recommended before passivation. Descaling can be done in two methods - Online descaling and offline descaling. In both the cases the quantity required of CHEMTEX'S Chiller Passivation for neutralizing and passivation up to 2% w/v for re-circulation for 3-6 hours.
