How is carbon dioxide corrosive?
Carbon dioxide is corrosive because it forms into carbonic acid in presence of CO2 + heat + water at low pH conditions. The carbonic acid that is evolved is very corrosive.
How to prevent carbon dioxide corrosion?
corrosion can simply be prevented by neutralizing amine treatment of condensate return line. This is best achieved with the use of CHEMTEX'S Polyamine. Polyamines have vapor liquid distribution ratio such that the corrosion of condensate return line is prevented even in case of long or short lines with low to medium pressure boilers and does not even cause formation of amine carbonates.

CHEMTEX'S Carbon Dioxide Corrosion Inhibitor is dosed in the boiler water at the recommended dosage that is prescribed after analysis of water and other system parameters.

Handling measures and precautions
Proper human safety products such as Splash goggles, lab coat, vapor respirator, gloves and boots should be worn while handling and applying chemicals. Splashes on skin should be washed off with water immediately. In case of splashing into the eyes, flush it with fresh water and obtain medical attention. Should not be injected. This product should be stored in original containers in cool and dry place, away from sources of heat, flame and direct sunlight. Please refer Technical Data Sheet, Label and MSDS for more details and shelf life.
This product is available in 200kgs HDPE drums and 50kgs jars.
