Alkali builder or booster chemical is a powerful alkali builder/booster, which is based on a balanced blend of alkali, water hardness sequestering agent and anti-greying agents. The NTA based building system ensures low water hardness ion concentration and consequently prevents precipitation of detergent components. In this way this building system also functions as anti-greying agent by preventing formation and deposition of water hardness salts onto fabric.

It is most commonly applied in conjunction with a surfactant booster. These products combined with bleach offer a powerful system, which may be used for cleaning fabric from hospitals and other healthcare establishments. When combined with a main wash detergent, Speciality alkaline builders enhance the wash performance on heavily soiled goods by increasing the pH of the wash solution.

Diethyl Hydroxylamine is an organic compound, mainly used as an oxygen scavenger in water treatments for controlling corrosion in boilers very effectively. It reacts with oxygen to form acetates, nitrogen, and water. It is non-toxic, providing good protection against corrosion at the same time. Due to its capability of inhibiting polymerization in the gas phase, DEHA is finding use as an in-process inhibitor for the production of styrene, divinylbenzene, butadiene, and other monomers. In the boiler, it encapsulates metal surfaces and then passes out of the boiler with steam, passing through a metal passivating agent in the return line system.

Chemtex’s Boiler Oxygen Scavenger is a catalyzed oxygen scavenger in liquid form based on catalyzed sodium bisulfite. It helps to instantly remove oxygen from the boiler feed water by converting itself to sodium bisulfate and also reduces alkalinity.

Application and Dosage:

Chemtex’s Boiler Oxygen Scavenger should be dissolved with water in a separate tank with slow agitation and dosed continuously to the boiler feed water line after the deaerator. For every 1 ppm of dissolved oxygen, 24ppm of Chemtex’s Boiler Oxygen Scavenger should be ideally dosed. However, the dosage varies with feed water temperature, for exact dosage refers the below table:-

Carbohydrazide Chemical in both powder and liquid form finds use oxygen scavenging in boilers to prevent oxidative corrosion. Carbohydrazide is a very effective boiler oxygen scavenger in powdery form, as a formulation. It is used to scavenge even the last traces of DO (Dissolved Oxygen) from the boiler feed water. It prevents corrosion by forming a protective passive film on metal and boosting pH in condensate line. It is highly soluble in water and insoluble in organic solvents.

Carbohydrazide replaces the conventional Hydrazine by overcoming the hazardous carcinogenic effects of hydrazine. Its reducing properties for metal oxides, such as converting ferric oxide to ferrous oxide and cupric oxide to cuprous oxide, finding use in metal passivation.

Cyclohexylamine is primarily used for low-pressure boilers where the condensate has a long run. It has the ability to stay with condensate steam for longer runs and at various steam pressures which is not a characteristic of other neutralizing amines available. In case the amine requirement is high then there is a possibility of amine carbonate deposit formation. In this case, it is recommended that a blend of other amines be used with Cyclohexylamine for the long run and the low-pressure benefits while preventing carbonate deposition.
